The Poet's Poet.... Sally Williams launches 'The Bird's Eye''

'Bird's Eye' is not an assortment of high-sounding, hard to understand poems. It is such that the reader can easily relate to, and get enriched with a newness of perspective.

Sally Williams is a Law graduate from the University of London Metropolitan. Her passion for writing led her to study creative writing with the University of Oxford.

The Poet Herself  SALLY WILLIAMS

Prior to the book unveil and lunch, Sally produced a mini-documentary powered by Swan Writers and Directed/Packaged by Papilonmexy Film Studio. I was the guest presenter and so interviewed and spent time with Sally on the hill.

It was a very emotional refreshing and spiritual experience.

Along with orphans from Gishiri Village, Abuja. Sally's love for life and nature revealed itself through the process. Sally is indeed an enigma... a real natural talent.... an army of words.... words that slip out from a soul inspired by her world.... all aimed at reaching out positively. Especially to introduce poetry back into Secondary Schools.

Awww.... the rock climbing had me experiencing panic attack.... I had tears in my eyes due to the steepness/sloppiness of the hill

OOOOOOOH my God...Father help me survive to da top...no tumbling
down the hill Rachee lol

At last we conquered!!! up to the Hill.... LOL

Distinguished Ladies and  Gentlemen, it is a great pleasure to be here with you witnessing this unveiling. Today's unveiling is about an area of Literature that is most often overlooked or given very little accolade especially in Society but tonight, we are again reminded of the importance of poetry in every Society. All our great men of old; from Shakespeare, Plato, Socrates to our great mathematicians like Pythagoras despite their prowess in the sciences and politics, still found a need and a place for poetry in their lives. We set these great people as names to inspire  our children yet ignore to also teach them the ingredients that made such minds exceptional.
It is my honest belief that if these young ones are given a predisposition to poetry at their early ages, truth will not be so far from their hearts. Philosophy which is the foundation of good politics will come as a second nature to them. And where this is so , it will not be so hard to raise a new breed of geniuses for our future and our country.
Having known and worked with Sally Williams for a while now and heard her speak over and over about her vision, I know that this is her hope and the core reason behind her work in reviving poetry among the young, and bringing it back to secondary  Schools.
We are moved by her work and appreciate these effort. And I hope I speak for all when I say that we are all here to support this vision. If not for anything, then for the sake of our children , for the sake of our future. Thank you.
